Drawing - Beginners to Intermediate One Day Workshop

Time: 10am to 4pm (Bring your lunch. Kitchen facilities available.)

Place: gallery57, corner Clermont Ave and Wellbank St, Concord

Cost: $75 workshop fee, payable via bank transfer prior to workshop

 

About Xavier:

Xavier, a French national, studied at the École Duperré in Paris before graduating in 1981 with a Degree in Illustration and the Applied Arts. Xavier worked as an illustrator for major French magazines, publications and advertising agencies before moving to Sydney in 1994. Xavier has been part of several group exhibitions with his detailed and expressive illustrations’ and paintings and has had two solo shows at the ArtHouse Hotel. Xavier is five times winner of the Bald Archy prize and winner of 17 awards in various exhibitions and competitions in the past 4 years.

 

Materials List

  • Lead pencil set – HB 2B 4B 6B or any others you may already have
  • Kneadable eraser
  • Ruler
  • Cheap A3 size sketch pad (or loose paper and backing board and clips to hold paper)

 

Class outcomes:

An emphasis will be on expression of form, volume and structure in a still life set up. The class will include a portrait drawing, rendering the face in a realistic manner with proportions and drapery a consideration.
